Helping you heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges—one step at a time.
To “walk the talk,” I engage in my own personal therapy and prioritize self-care. This keeps me grounded and fully present for those I support. If you’re seeking trauma-informed therapy either in-person or online, I’d love to connect.
My passion for counselling comes from a deep curiosity about human nature and a strong belief in our capacity to grow through life’s challenges. I believe our experiences and relationships shape who we are, and that healing begins when we feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
At the heart of my work is a person-centred, humanistic approach. I see each client as the expert in their own life and aim to create a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions safely. My work focuses on being genuine, offering kindness without judgment, and holding a deep belief in each person’s ability to heal and thrive.
I also believe that real change happens within safe, trusting relationships. That’s why I place great importance on the connection we build together, because when you feel supported, empowered, and accepted, meaningful healing becomes possible.
I use an integrative, relational, trauma-informed approach, tailoring therapy to your unique needs. “Trauma-informed” means I recognize the impact trauma can have on your life and create a safe, supportive space for healing. I draw on evidence-based modalities, such as:
These approaches allow me to support clients in ways that are gentle, respectful, and tailored to each person’s story and nervous system. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are and take meaningful steps toward healing and lasting change. You can learn more about my services here.
My approach is rooted in nine years of clinical experience, enriched by academic study and personal life experience, all of which shape the grounded, compassionate care I offer. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Victoria (UVic), and a diploma in Interpersonal Counselling from Clearmind International. In addition to my formal education, I co-founded a non-profit organization dedicated to PTSD awareness and support, and I continue to engage in ongoing professional development to deepen and expand my skills.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), certified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and currently completing certification as a Gottman-trained couples counsellor. My applications for the Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designations are pending. In the meantime, I continue to practice as a Master Therapeutic Counsellor (MTC) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT). I seek clinical supervision when appropriate, and maintain high ethical and professional standards in all aspects of my work.
Based in Langford, BC, I offer a warm, relational approach that supports deep, lasting healing.
In 2013, my family and I experienced a life-changing river rafting accident. In an instant, what began as a joyful outing turned into a fight for survival. Confronted with overwhelming fear for my own life and, at the same time, the lives of my children and husband, I was deeply affected—physically, emotionally, and psychologically. That experience became a defining moment, reshaping both my personal life and professional path.
I know first-hand what it’s like to feel helpless in the face of danger, to carry the weight of fear for yourself and your loved ones, and to experience the disconnection trauma can bring. I’ve felt how it can shake your sense of self and safety, and how it can show up in both body and mind. Looking back, I realize there were things I needed but didn’t know how to ask for. With the knowledge I have now, I better understand the journey of recovery, and I want to help others navigate it, too.
That experience gave me a deeper compassion for the struggles my clients face, and a personal understanding of how trauma can shake the foundation of one’s life. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, afraid, and deeply alone. It grounded my commitment to showing up with steadiness, clarity, and care, especially during life’s most disorienting moments.
Having walked through my own healing journey, I bring not only clinical training but lived insight into the emotional complexity of trauma. This perspective informs how I hold space: with patience, gentleness, and a belief in your inner strength. It also inspired me to pursue advanced training in evidence-based trauma therapies, so I can support healing in ways that are both effective and deeply respectful.
Through my own healing, and by witnessing the profound resilience of others, I know that recovery is possible.
