Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve been holding so much for so long. You may have been thinking about taking this step for weeks, months, or even years. Do you find yourself scrolling through profiles wondering who you can really talk to, or whether you’ll feel truly understood? That uncertainty is completely valid, it’s a lot to take in.
This is a deeply personal decision, and one of the most important steps in your healing journey. Research shows that the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is one of the strongest predictors of success in therapy. So, finding someone you connect with truly does matter. You deserve to make this decision with care and confidence.

Is This the Right Fit?

Choosing a therapist isn’t just about credentials—it’s about connection. Research consistently shows that therapy works best when you feel a sense of connection and trust. That’s why I offer a complementary 15-minute consultation: to give us both a chance for us to share, ask questions, and get a sense of whether we’re a good match.
Most people have a sense within the first few sessions whether therapy feels like a safe and supportive space. I encourage you to trust your timing and your instincts. If it doesn’t feel right, that’s absolutely okay. I welcome open, honest conversations and can offer referrals to other trusted professionals who may be a better fit.

Therapy is a meaningful investment in yourself, but it can also feel like a financial stretch. To help make counselling more accessible, I offer direct billing to select insurers through Telus Health eClaims and Pacific Blue Cross. Please see the Helpful Details page for more details.

No two people are the same—so therapy shouldn’t be either. I take an integrative, trauma-informed approach that reflects your unique needs, goals, and life experiences.
My practice draws from evidence-based approaches like EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, CBT, and Narrative Therapy, while staying rooted in compassion, collaboration, and respect. Whether you’re working through trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, or stress, I’ll meet you with compassion and curiosity. And, when it fits, I like to add a touch of humour to bring lightness and comfort to our sessions.
