ANXIETY
If you’re struggling with anxiety, you’re not alone—anxiety disorders are the most common mental health concern in Canada. While everyone feels anxious from time to time, persistent anxiety can feel overwhelming and start to interfere with your daily life. Common symptoms may include ongoing fear or worry (even without a clear cause), difficulty concentrating, muscle tension or aches, digestive issues, changes in appetite, trouble sleeping, irritability, or a reduced interest in sex.
The good news is that anxiety is treatable, and there are effective tools and strategies that can help you feel more grounded and in control including CBT, somatic work, and mindfulness-based practices. Techniques such as relaxation exercises, reframing unhelpful thoughts, and setting manageable goals can support healthier living and improve your overall well-being.
If anxiety is affecting your work, relationships, or daily routine, counselling can help. Together, we’ll explore strategies tailored to your needs so you can move toward a calmer, more balanced life. As we build your capacity to manage stress and anxiety, you’ll notice your tolerance growing, and your symptoms becoming more manageable.
DEPRESSION
If feelings of sadness last for two weeks or more, begin to affect most areas of your life, and make it hard to enjoy the things you once loved, you may be experiencing depression. Sometimes depression is triggered by overwhelming or painful events; other times, it shows up as a persistent heaviness that’s difficult to explain or shake. Common symptoms include deep sadness, low self-esteem, hopelessness, helplessness, feelings of worthlessness, changes in appetite, sleep difficulties, and ongoing fatigue.
Depression can feel isolating, but you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we’ll begin the process of healing so you can reconnect with your sense of self and take back ownership of your life.
Often, the beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world are shaped by past experiences—many of them laid down before we were even fully aware of them. These subconscious, emotionally rooted beliefs may have once helped you feel safe but may now be holding you back. In therapy, you’ll be supported in exploring these patterns and the emotions tied to them, so you can begin to shift old narratives and step into the fuller, more empowered life you deserve.
You’ll be gently encouraged to see things from new perspectives, explore new choices, and take meaningful steps toward your personal goals—all at your own pace, with compassionate guidance.
